God gave him grace -but the devil gave him style
He was only on loan - but for too short a while

God needed a star who could shine on above
with a pocket full of rainbows and a heart full of love.

Stuart was the youngest of four brothers, a real character who left us with many memories to laugh at and to cherish.

He died in a RTA aged 21,

Stuart was in the same year as me at secondary school. Though we were never close, I do have fond memories of him. I will always picture him wearing the collar of his blazer up, so cool! I remember reading about his sudden and tragic death in the local paper when it happened and felt so sad that he lost his life when it was just about to start. This site is a wonderful tribute to Stuart and the photos are great. RIP Stuart, thinking of you x

My beautiful son, the youngest of four
who could spend quicker than I, so was always poor,
but not in spirit, he was cheerful and strong
who when he was down, listened to his Elvis songs

His bedroom was a tip, covered with posters of bikes
as a shrine to his taste, his likes and dislikes
But when he went out, you should have seen me smile,
from his cowboy boots to his cowboy hat, did he have style.

He grew out of that phase at the age of nineteen
when he started to work in the rock club scene
he thought he was Tom Cruise, a shaker and pourer,
and with the girls, he was quite a scorer.

But under it all, he could be really quite shy,
unless on the kareoke, he was asked to try
to sing like Elvis, he was a number one fan,
of his early recordings, to him, he was 'the man'.

He made me laugh, he made me smile
even when a rogue, which he was once in a while
when I hear of things he got up to on the sly,
it still makes me laugh, though I want to cry,

At the waste of a life, over a twenty one
at that age, it should have just begun
We will remember him, for all the happy times
just look for a star, he's the brightest that shines

But the loss I feel will never be gone,
no wedding, no children to carry him on
But deep in my heart, I will always recall
my youngest son, so special to all

Love and miss you Stuart, you are always on my mind. Mum
